ABS MOUNTAIN CAMPUS TEAM
ABS MOUNTAIN ADMINISTRATION
I am the proud owner of Au Beau Sejour Preschool. I grew up in France and am fluent in French, Spanish and English. I obtained a degree in « DEUG Sciences Humaines et Sociales» and a “Licence Sciences de L’éducation” at the Université Lille in France where I received my BA in Education. During this time, I also worked with preschool and school age children as a teaching assistant “Educatrice”.
I moved to Southern California where I taught at both a French immersion Preschool “La Petite École” and also French language at Anneliese's School with a California Curriculum. This gave me exposure to teaching the California Curriculum where I used the Social Emotional Learning, Positive Discipline as well as creative art to teach not only the French language, but the culture as well.
I continued on to study at Grossmont College of San Diego and Saddleback College of Irvine (Orange County) where I obtained my Supervision/Administration degree to qualify as our Director.
I married and moved to the Bay Area when I met the owner of Au P’tit Monde, and we worked closely together in opening up the second location of APM French Preschool in E Palo Alto. For 4 years, I was the full time Director at Au P’tit Monde East Palo Alto and worked very closely with the teachers to build a positive a safe environment for our students.
In 2018, I got lucky to find a preschool building for sale in Oakland where I live. In October 23rd 2018, Au Beau Sejour French preschool opened its doors for the first time to welcome our wonderful students and families!
Then in 2020, at the middle of the Covid pandemic, I decided that it was the good time to open a second ABS French Preschool while a lot of preschools were closing their doors. In July 2021, ABS Mountain Campus opened its doors to more students. We are so happy that we can welcome more families and share our French Preschool environment with our students, your children, to give them the key of success!
I am passionate about teaching and loves the nurturing, educational environment that I have worked hard in establishing in our Preschool Au Beau Sejour. And ABS name means simply “A Beautiful Stay”… no need to say more about ABS French Preschool than these words!
Chloé was born and raised in Normandy, France. She attended the University of Rouen and she received her BA with a major in Linguistics with a focus on teaching French as a foreign language.
After college, she worked as an au pair in California for two years. She took care of two children, ages 1 and 5, for a Franco-American family. This experience showed her how much she loves working with children.
In 2016, Chloé taught French for the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada for one year. She really enjoyed teaching her native language and sharing her culture.
She has been living in California since 2017 and started working with children that have learning disabilities. She worked closely with each student to provide them the individual support they needed. She believes individual attention helps students improve their confidence and gives them the tools they need to succeed.
In 2019, Chloe joined our ABS team and became Assistant teacher in our PS class. In the same time, she earned her teacher Certificate. She then became the lead teacher of our TPS class of West Campus.
In 2021, Au Beau Sejour French Preschool extended. We opened a second ABS Preschool. Chloe earned her administration credential to become the Mountain Campus Director.
She is very happy to be a part of the team at Au Beau Séjour as it gives her the opportunity to shape the lives of young children while also spreading her native language and culture. She feels strongly that because preschool is the first formal educational experience for most children, a positive preschool experience has a huge impact on their academic and social lives in all the years to come.
Zohra was born and raised in Algeria, North Africa. She received a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from The University of Algiers. Immediately after graduating, Zohra worked as a PE teacher at a middle school in Algeria for 10 years. She moved to California with her two sons in 2017.
Zohra is fully certified in Early Childhood Development, but she still continues to take classes in order to keep learning and grow as a better educator. She believes that it is in the early years of education that children learn to trust people outside of their nuclear families, meet people from cultures other than their own and truly begin to experience the world outside of their homes. She fully appreciates the amount of responsibility that teaching young children entails.
It is through children that we can help affect the positive changes we hope to see in the world. Teaching children allows us to imprint on them in ways which can benefit both their lives and future generations at the same time.
Zohra brings a great deal of knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to the ABS team. She is very happy to be part of ABS and to have the opportunity to see your children grow.
